We are Houssam and Osama, two brothers from Damascus. In November 2019 we opened our little walk-up window at 707 Dundas St W, and from day one we have cooked the food we grew up on, the food our family made back home.
Our family’s food history in Damascus goes back more than 110 years. We did not learn this from books. We learned it at home, watching, tasting and helping, and we carry those recipes with us every day. When we miss home, this is how we go back to it.
That is why everything we serve is 100% halal, and why every wrap is cooked to order when you order it. The saj bread is toasted on the grill, the garlic sauce is homemade, and nothing is left sitting and waiting. We make it the way it was always made for us, fresh, honest and with care.
If you come to our window, we want you to feel welcome, like you are at our table. This is our story, our family’s story, and we are grateful we get to share a taste of Damascus with you here in Toronto.
